Orchid Home Rebuild Update

As to not bury the lede, we are almost to the finish line. After 17 months of being out of our home, due to the October 2019 Dallas tornado, it is hard to believe that we will finally be moving back home this month.

I have learned so much about remodeling and want to send out a public and very large thank you to Chris Dauwe with Rosewood Custom Builders for putting up with me. It has been an amazing journey, and I tell you once you get that electric meter off that T-pole that things really start to happen. We expect our plumbing green tag this week and then to move “home” in the middle of the month.

Of course, the washer and dryer that I ordered back in November will not be here until the end of the month. The same goes for the swamp coolers that cool the greenhouse that I ordered on July 1, 2020, which are stuck on a ship somewhere. But let’s be serious, it will still be more than wonderful to be back in our home with or without our coveted appliances.

What am I looking the most forward to? My designers, Corbin See and Wren Homsey, have been such an amazing tag team and are going to keep me out of the house on install day so that there will be even more excitement surrounding the big “move-in event”. Stay tuned on my social media, @Christy.Compass!
