The holidays always seem to arrive faster than expected, and I’ve learned that the best gifts are rarely the ones you find when you’re frantically looking for them.

I keep a short list of favorite Dallas shops I return to throughout the year. Some are perfect for a hostess gift on the way to dinner, others for the person who has everything, and a few are simply wonderful places to wander until something catches your eye.

Here are a few of my favorites to keep in mind as the season gets busy.

Paper Affair

Paper Affair is one of my absolute favorite shops, filled with beautiful stationery, thoughtful gifts, and those special little finds that make gift-giving such a pleasure. Whether I’m looking for the perfect card, a hostess gift, or something unexpected, I never leave empty-handed.

Founded by my dear friend Donna Leiter, Gardenuity makes gardening fun, approachable, and rewarding for everyone, whether you have a green thumb or not! After all, who doesn’t want to learn to grow something beautiful—or delicious—and experience the joy of gardening?

Good For: Teachers gifts, hostess gifts

The Market Highland Park

Market Highland Park is one of my favorite shopping destinations, thanks to the fabulous Kennan Silverman, who has an extraordinary eye for sourcing the coolest gifts, irresistible jewelry, and the most delectable clothing. Every visit feels like a treasure hunt, and I dare you to walk out empty-handed!

Good For: One-of-a-kind gifts, fabulous jewelry, chic wardrobe additions

Talulah & Hess 

Filled with beautiful gifts, charming home accessories, entertaining pieces, and unexpected little treasures, it is especially fun during the holidays when the store feels festive from the moment you walk in.

Good for:  Hostess Gifts, stocking stuffers and those hard to find gifts for someone who has everything.

St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange

A longtime Dallas favorite and one of those places where you can shop for several people at once. The selection spans entertaining, home, children and personal gifts, with the added benefit of supporting organizations in our community.
