The People & Lifestyle
For those of us who live in Texas, we know Frisco as the headquarters for the Dallas Cowboys and has earned the title of the fastest growing city numerous times by the U.S. Census Bureau. Considered one of the safest cities in the nation, as well as a top rated school system and land galore, no wonder it is the apple of Texas eyes right now.
What To Love
- Frisco has quite a few gated communities and family-friendly neighborhoods. Frisco Commons Park features playgrounds, a fishing pond, and an amphitheater.
- Its rough boundaries are Sam Rayburn to the South, 380 to the North, 423 to the West and Custer Road to the East.
- Frisco was originally named Emerson, for Francis Emerson, a McKinney banker, who owned a large farm in the area. It was established in 1902 as Frisco City, because a line of the St. Louis-San Francisco railroad was built through the area and watering holes were needed. It was incorporated in 1908 as Frisco and maintained a population of approximately 2,000 residents until the growth in the 1990 where it became the fastest growing city in the nation due to developers and visionary’s. It grew to 120,000 in 2011 and today has a population of over 210,000.
