Holiday fashion is back! After enjoying our Christmases at home in PJs last year, we are going full out Holiday this year. I recently had the thrill of sitting down with Keenan Walker, Chief Creative Officer at MARKET in Highland Park Village, to get the inside scoop on how to show up in style this year.

What are the go-to colors this season?

KW: Life is a total disco at the moment! We are loving deep greens, gold, shades of Early browns and pops of bright pink! Plus, you can’t go wrong with anything with some shine or sparkle to it for the Holiday season. Rotate nailed the party vibe again this season!

What accessories are we seeing this holiday season?

KW: Western-inspired boots are a huge trend this year. We have a fabulous pair from Cult Gaia right now and another cool option from Proenza Schouler on the way. Or, opt for a statement heel for night, this woven style from Studio Amelia is arriving soon! For bags, a mini or cross body style with a fun detail like a fur trim or gold accents are a fabulous choice. Think hands free for dancing! Last but not least, for jewelry, pearls are back! Grab your grandmother’s pearls, layer them with your diamonds and throw them on with your favorite sweater. The Last Line makes the coolest pearl & diamond choker that I am layering in with my vintage pieces.

What are you seeing to keep warm this season?

KW: Over-the-top details are what to look for. We are seeing a lot of feathers, fur and plush velvet. Christopher Kane has a sweater and cardigan with fun rhinestone details that’s a fabulous light weight option for Texas. Galvan has these amazing velvet blazers that have a fit to die for and Ganni just dropped its newest delivery with amazing chain & bead details!

What is the perfect Christmas Eve/Day outfit?

KW: I am all about the Sleeper Feather Pajamas. Layer with a teddy duster coat and pair with slides for the day and a heel when you head out for the evening! The feathers button off so afterward, you can hop straight into bed. The waistband is elastic which is key for a day of relaxing & feasting!

Are we going casual or full out Holiday this year?

KW: We are going full out Holiday, all the way! At MARKET, we just installed our Holiday windows this past weekend and we are working with Sam Theis on the install. He also does the windows at Bergdorf Goodman … no big deal! Be sure to swing by and check them out in Highland Park Village!
